Background: Originally from the beautiful country of Romania, Oana came to the United States in 1997, completing her undergraduate studies at Berea College and her graduate studies at the University of Tennessee, where she obtained her MBA in Marketing.
An artist at heart, Oana always loved to dance, trying out a wide range of dance styles, from Square Dancing to Modern Dancing. Oana began taking ballroom dance lessons in January 2004. Shortly thereafter, she became the National Champion in the amateur division. She continues to learn, compete, and teach. In addition, Oana’s photographs of dancing have been published in the official amateur ballroom dancers’ magazine, won 1st prize, and were featured in a two-page article. Oana has also been featured in more than a dozen television commercials.
In her spare time, Oana volunteers as a member of the Brand and Messaging Committee for United Way, Women in Cable and Telecommunications (WICT) – a nationwide professional organization, Random Acts of Flowers, and The Joy of Music School – a successful non-profit organization offering free music lessons and practice instruments/space to underprivileged children.
Oana currently enjoys providing ballroom dance lessons and marketing consulting services to a diverse business customer base in the Knoxville area, where she lives together with her husband David and their “furry” kids: two dogs and a cat.
